01/6/2018, El Reno, OK - The OnPoint Academy Panthers pulled out their first win over a junior college of the 2018 season by defeating the Kansas City Community College Blue Devils 87-78 in Saturday's home contest.  The Panthers found themselves in an up and down game but matched up very well with the Blue Devils.  The Panthers found their stride early in the second half after coming out of the half up by 2.  The game was highlighted by several big plays of both sides of the ball.  The Panthers got another big scoring effort from Justin Harris who chipped on 30 pts and a blazing 6-13 from beyond the arc.  Tony Kinser had a huge game with 15 pts, 9 rebs, and 7, that's right 7 blocks on the evening.  Another huge impact on the game was Devin Ponder who contributed 14 points but his biggest stat line of the day was his 6 steals that translated into 8 points in one way or another on the offensive end.

The Panthers free throw line shooting woes were assisted by Andre Houze's 80% on 10 attempts, Houze who ended the night with 10 pts also had 5 steals to contribute to the Panthers stellar defensive showing.  The Panthers have shown much improvement since falling under the leadership of Coach David Samilton, who has seemingly provided a much needed intense coaching style under which the team has been responding to by increasing their energy and playing style.
